“Juanito is a kind of Ry Cooder of flamenco guitar – he combines vivid colors, a rich imagination, and a yearning, never-satisfied mastery of his art,” says Steve Morse, a longtime Boston Globe writer. And now, the most recent chapter in Pascual’s musical journey, “a dream that started at the age of 15 - a seamless blend of flamenco, with blues, jazz, rock and classical,” is being realized in the Juanito Pascual New Flamenco Trio.

On Thursday, April 4th, Heartwood Regional Theater Company is pleased to present this dynamic trio, which blends the talents and influences of three master musicians: Pascual, Tupac Mantilla and Brad Barrett. The three share a magnetic chemistry which clearly enhances their unique and spellbinding performance. For youtube video links and performance details visit www.heartwoodtheater.org.

The group is currently recording its first CD, capturing styles ranging from traditional flamenco to music drawing on influences as diverse as Miles Davis and Jimi Hendrix, to the Beatles and J.S. Bach – recorded in stunning audio quality by Grammy Award-winning sound engineer, Rob Griffin.
